YCN COLLABORATION - WINSTON CHURCHILL FINAL SUBMISSION BOARDS

CONCEPT BOARDS

After a final hard push and a few late nights me and Mikey managed to finalize our project and get our concept boards together. We split the boards up amongst each other, Mikey took care of the first 3 boards, the initial board, the app concept and design board. I was in charge of the media board, promotion and 3d flyer. We were both happy with the end result but happy to be done as the final few days up to the deadline were intense. We managed to get the brief sent off with 24 hours to go!

The Collaborative Experience

I found this brief really fun overall, it was an exciting learning experience, I found I had the most fun just brainstorming ideas together. We seemed to keep bouncing ideas off each other, which lead to the development of what I believe is a really strong concept. We managed to come up with loads of different ideas but it was narrowing it down that was the hard part.

We split the roles up within the project, Mikey looked into the app design, and I looked into the promotion side of things. This was quite fun as I need to think of interesting ways to grab kids attention. I thought the use of projections and graffiti would be a good way of drawing attention. I also enjoyed making the flyer. It took a fair few attempts at getting the cut out winston the right size and shape, but trial and error prevailed.

Although we ended up with a strong project we were both a bit unhappy in the fact we had not got to do the majority of the things we were originally looking forward to. At first we planned on creating actual products, we were going to create a clothing range and prints which would of been a fun and more hands on. As crits went by our project got quite concept heavy and all our original plans changed. It was a shame we didn't get to create anything we could hold and be proud of but the creative process can lead you anywhere.

WE'RE GONNA WIN IT!!!

COME ON MIKEY!!!
